OPPO has introduced its Reno16 Series smartphones in Kenya, expanding its product portfolio with upgraded photography capabilities, artificial intelligence (AI) features and improved battery performance aimed at supporting consumers’ digital lifestyles.
The series, announced on November 5, 2026, comprises the OPPO Reno16 5G and Reno16 F 5G. The launch also includes the OPPO Enco Air5 wireless earbuds, which feature active noise cancellation, enhanced audio quality and extended battery life.
The new devices are designed to support photography, video creation, productivity, mobile entertainment and everyday communication through a combination of hardware improvements and software innovations.
Advanced Cameras Target Content Creators
Photography is among the key features of the Reno16 Series, with both smartphones featuring a 50-megapixel ultra-wide selfie camera offering a 100-degree field of view.
The camera is designed to accommodate more people in group photographs while allowing users to capture wider perspectives when creating social media content.
On the rear, the devices feature a triple-camera system comprising a high-resolution main camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS), a telephoto portrait camera offering approximately 3.5x optical zoom and an ultra-wide camera.
OPPO has also introduced additional editing capabilities through a new Create hub in the Photos application. The feature brings together AI-powered editing tools, including AI Remix Collage, which allows users to combine photographs and short videos into layered visual compositions featuring animated stickers, outlines and text.
Users can also extract moving subjects from Motion Photos and videos and turn them into stickers for personalised content creation.
For video creators, 4K Auto Straighten Video helps maintain level footage when recording while walking or moving. Dual View Video 2.0 also offers improved stabilisation and allows users to switch between rear camera lenses while recording.
AI Features Improve Everyday Productivity
The Reno16 Series runs on ColorOS 16, introducing AI-powered tools designed to simplify information management and everyday tasks.
One of the features is AI Mind Space, which provides a central location for organising saved on-screen information. Through the AI Snap Key, users can quickly capture and store useful content with a single press for easier access later.
The smartphones also feature AI Bill Manager, which recognises and organises digital payment records and physical receipts into spending records and insights, helping users manage their financial information.
Another addition is AI Mind Pilot, which coordinates multiple AI models to assist users with different tasks. The feature allows consumers to access AI support and compare responses side by side when searching for information or addressing everyday challenges.
Battery Capacity and Durability
OPPO has equipped the Reno16 Series with batteries starting at 6,700mAh, while the Reno16 F 5G offers a capacity of up to 7,000mAh.
The devices support 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging, targeting users who require extended battery life for activities such as mobile gaming, video streaming and content creation.
Connectivity is supported by AI LinkBoost 4.0, which is designed to improve network stability in crowded environments and areas with weaker signals.
The smartphones also feature IP68, IP69 and IP69K water and dust resistance ratings. Splash Touch and Glove Touch technologies allow users to operate their screens with wet or gloved hands.
Speaking during the launch, OPPO Kenya PR Manager Fredrique Achieng said the Reno16 Series reflects the company’s commitment to developing technology that supports creativity, productivity, communication and self-expression.
Enco Air5 Introduces Advanced Audio Features
Alongside the smartphones, OPPO has introduced the Enco Air5 wireless earbuds, featuring 52dB active noise cancellation that adjusts to different environments.
The earbuds feature 12mm dynamic bass drivers and OPPO Alive Audio technology, which provides spatial depth when listening to music and watching films.
Their Sound Master EQ offers three preset audio profiles: Pure Original Sound, Mellow Vocals and Pulsing Bass, alongside a 10-band custom equaliser.
For calls, the earbuds use a triple-microphone system with AI noise reduction to improve voice clarity in noisy environments.
The Enco Air5 delivers up to 13 hours of playback on a single charge and up to 54 hours when used with the charging case. A 10-minute charge provides up to 11 hours of playback under OPPO’s laboratory testing conditions.
Each earbud weighs approximately 4.3 grammes and carries an IP55 rating for dust and water splash resistance. Bluetooth 6.1 and dual-device connectivity also allow users to connect to two devices simultaneously.

The OPPO Reno16 Series and Enco Air5 are available at OPPO stores across Kenya.
The Reno16 5G retails at KES 79,999, while the Reno16 F 5G costs KES 69,999. The Enco Air5 wireless earbuds are priced at KES 3,999.
