Old Mutual has called for a reimagined advisor-customer relationship in the financial services sector, unveiling Anchor 360, a digital platform designed to empower insurance advisors while enhancing customer experiences across East Africa.
For decades, insurance advisors have played a central role in connecting individuals to financial protection. However, much of their time has been consumed by administrative tasks. Old Mutual says technology now offers a chance to shift that balance making financial advice “more human, not less.”
“We designed Anchor 360 with advisors at the heart of the experience. After a successful three-month pilot, we are confident this platform equips our partners with the tools to thrive in a competitive marketplace, while enabling clients to enjoy a more personalised and efficient experience,” said Mr. Karenju during the launch.
Anchor 360 consolidates client information, portfolio management, and commissions tracking into a single secure portal. This eliminates duplication for advisors, offering clarity, while clients benefit from a smoother, more transparent journey into financial solutions.
Industry experts note that the move marks a wider shift in insurance distribution. Unlike digital platforms that risk sidelining intermediaries, Old Mutual insists its innovation amplifies the advisor’s role rather than replacing it.
“For years, advisors have wrestled with the tension between building relationships and handling tedious administrative work such as onboarding, paperwork, and compliance checks.
Anchor 360 changes that equation. Through this intermediary portal, we aim to reduce turnaround times, increase transparency, and create greater opportunities for advisors to focus on client engagements and building lasting relationships,” added Martin.
The secure Advisor Portal offers streamlined onboarding for intermediaries, automated verification, document uploads, OTP authentication, and live customer support.
It also integrates a recommendation engine to better match solutions with client profiles, alongside a commissions management tool that provides full visibility across multiple currencies.
