The Old Mutual tower was lit up in blue on Friday in a symbolic gesture to mark World Parkinson’s Day. This initiative is a collaboration between Old Mutual and the Parkinson’s Support Group of Kenya, aimed at raising awareness about Parkinson’s disease and standing in solidarity with those affected.
Parkinson’s disease is a progressive neurological disorder that impacts movement and quality of life. Across the globe, families and individuals face their daily challenges, often in silence. The blue lighting serves as a beacon of hope, a tribute to their courage, and a call to the public to learn more and take action. Parkinson’s Disease (PD) is a highly misdiagnosed condition in Kenya.

The building lighting up is part of the “Spark the Night” intitiative by PD avengers, a Canadian based organization, representing a mission to illuminate cities worldwide in unity and support for the 11.8 million people living with Parkinson’s.
