The Chief Executive Officer of the National Land Commission (NLC), CHRP Kabale Tache Arero, on Tuesday morning held a meeting with the senior management of Kenya Reinsurance Corporation (Kenya Re) to address issues surrounding a parcel of land located along Link Road, Mbagathi.
The discussions focused on confirming the proprietorship of the property and establishing a clear framework for resolving the ownership dispute. It was agreed that a follow-up meeting will be convened to include key stakeholders from the Office of the Attorney General, the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA), and the Ministry of Lands.
According to Ms. Arero, the collaborative forum will be instrumental in formally establishing ownership rights and determining the extent of land affected by the ongoing project. The NLC and KURA will conduct a joint verification exercise to precisely assess the impacted area.
She further noted that valuation and compensation will only be finalized once the question of ownership has been conclusively settled, ensuring that all processes are transparent and compliant with existing legal frameworks.
