NCBA Strengthen Integrated Financial Solutions to Drive Transport Enterprises

Transport entrepreneurs in Embu and neighbouring counties are set to benefit from expanded financial solutions following an NCBA forum that brought together about 180 players from across the transport value chain.

The Embu Transporters Forum, held under the theme “Powering Transport Enterprise Through Partnerships and Innovation,” brought together PSV operators, SACCO leaders, fleet owners, motor vehicle dealers and transport entrepreneurs from Embu Town, Mwea, Runyenjes, Kiritiri, Siakago, Ishiara and Kutus.

The engagement comes as Kenya’s transport and storage sector continues to contribute to economic activity. According to the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS), the sector grew by 3.7 per cent in 2025.

NCBA Group Director, Retail Banking, Dennis Njau, said transport businesses require more than vehicle financing to remain competitive and sustainable.

“Transport businesses require more than vehicle financing. They need the right financial, insurance and transactional solutions to manage their operations, expand their fleets and build sustainable businesses,” Njau said.

During the forum, NCBA showcased an integrated range of solutions covering Asset Finance, Bancassurance, Transaction Banking through the Komiut payment solution, SME banking, working capital facilities, Insurance Premium Financing, Vehicle Tracking Solutions and everyday banking services.

The forum also featured panel discussions, customer experiences, product exhibitions and motor dealer showcases, providing transport operators with an opportunity to engage directly with NCBA experts and strategic partners.

Discussions focused on strengthening collaboration among financial institutions, SACCOs, dealers, insurers and transport operators to improve operational efficiency, modernise vehicle fleets and respond to changes in the mobility sector.

NCBA also highlighted its revamped PSV financing proposition, designed to support SACCOs, fleet owners and individual operators seeking to expand their transport businesses.

The bank said its approach goes beyond financing by providing sector-specific banking solutions addressing different needs across the transport value chain.

The initiative is anchored on NCBA’s Ubuntu philosophy of “I am because we are,” which emphasises collaboration among stakeholders to unlock business opportunities and promote shared economic growth.

The Embu forum builds on NCBA’s 2025 Transporters Forum and forms part of the bank’s wider efforts to support small and medium-sized enterprises with practical financial solutions that enable sustainable growth.

NCBA said continued partnerships between financial institutions, transport businesses, insurers, dealers and SACCOs will be critical in strengthening Kenya’s transport ecosystem and supporting enterprises as the sector evolves.
