Naivas Supermarket has opened its 114th branch in Ruaka, Kiambu County, thus reinforcing its pledge of everyday value, while at the same time making it easier for Kenyan families to get quality and affordable shopping.
This is the 3rd Naivas store in Kiambu County after Limuru and Thika. They also plan to open more stores in Kiambu, Kangundo, and Gikambura.
The retail giant is currently focusing on the Greater Nairobi area with plans of opening approximately 35 to 40 stores there by 2025.
The new outlet is a clear indication that Naivas is not only eyeing a Nairobi Metropolitan City-wide coverage but also sees Ruaka as one of the potential areas in the metropolis in which they want to build a strong customer base through their store.
“Our focus is always on the customer, ensuring consistent value, quality, convenience, and efficient service every day. The Ruaka store brings this commitment to life, while also creating jobs and supporting the local economy,” said Mr. Mathenge.
Naivas’ growth continues to be anchored on close collaboration with local manufacturers and suppliers, a core value that has enabled the retailer to scale sustainably while supporting Kenyan enterprise.
Mr. Javin Hutchinson, the Chief Executive Officer at Bake Easy, welcomed the opening, which he described as a boost to local producers.
“Naivas is a retailer that truly believes in partnership. Their growth directly supports local
manufacturers like us, allowing Kenyan-made products to reach more households. The Ruaka store is another step forward in strengthening local supply chains,” said Mr. Hutchinson.
The new Ruaka branch, with its extensive selection of groceries, fresh produce, bakery goods, and household essentials, is presented to the customers in a contemporary, friendly, and efficient environment.
The store is not only expected to bring in retail sales but also create new jobs as well as open up new opportunities for small and medium, sized enterprises within the supplier ecosystem of Naivas.
