1 Mins read

Nairobi, Kenya, 26 July 2024- Majid Al Futtaim Retail, the exclusive operator of Carrefour in Kenya, has launched the second edition of its Retail Graduate Programme, with applications open until August 2024 and onboarding set for October 2024.

Following the success of the inaugural programme, which saw 71 candidates from six countries participate, this year’s edition aims to further expand its reach, targeting candidates from eight countries including Lebanon, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Georgia, Kenya, Pakistan, and the United Arab Emirates.

The Retail Graduate Programme is designed to offer recent graduates an 18-month, hands-on experience in the retail industry through three six-month rotations. Participants will gain exposure to various operational areas such as in-store operations, e-commerce, merchandise functions, and customer service.

This structured approach ensures a solid foundation for future career development within the company, aligning with Majid Al Futtaim Retail’s mission to empower young talent and develop future leaders.

In Kenya, the programme is being implemented in partnership with four local universities: the University of Nairobi (UoN), Strathmore University, United States International University Africa (USIU-Africa), and Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT). This is an increase from the two universities partnered with last year, demonstrating the company’s commitment to expanding educational opportunities and fostering local talent.

Christophe Orcet, Regional Director – East Africa at Majid Al Futtaim Retail, commented on the launch: “The Retail Graduate Programme embodies our commitment to nurturing future retail leaders – a reflection of our core value, ‘Together We Make Every Moment Count.’ By providing graduates with hands-on experience and mentorship, we empower them to drive innovation and deliver exceptional customer experiences. We are excited to welcome a new generation of talent who will shape the future of retail.”

Orcet added, “At Majid Al Futtaim Retail, we embrace the power of diversity and collaboration. By creating a culture of continuous learning, we leverage our collective strengths, shared purpose, and diverse perspectives to drive innovation and excellence in customer experience. As we continue to bring our iconic brand experiences to over 770 thousand customers daily, we always look forward to nurturing young minds, creating opportunities, and unleashing their potential with our proud history of success and ever-propelling growth.”

The expansion of the Retail Graduate Programme highlights Majid Al Futtaim Retail’s dedication to empowering young professionals and supporting local communities across its operational regions
