KAA confirms grassland fire at JKIA contained, no disruption to Airport operations 

The Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) is actively responding to a fire incident affecting a section of the grassland surrounding Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).

A coordinated emergency response team, comprising the KAA Airport Rescue & Fire Fighting Service, the Kenya Defense Forces (KDF), and the Nairobi County Fire Unit, is working swiftly to contain the blaze and prevent its spread.

KAA has assured the public that the fire remains confined to non-operational grassland areas and has not affected any critical infrastructure or essential operational zones within the airport. Flight schedules, passenger processing, and cargo handling continue without disruption.
