Kiambu County, 10 November 2024 – The Jeremiah Mugi Foundation has teamed up with the Mau Mau War Veteran Association and the Mau Mau Children Post-Colonial Elite for a special thanksgiving service to honor veterans and their families.

The event will be held at the AIC Church Kirenga in Rukuma, Kiambu County on Sunday 10th, 2024

Organizers have invited the public to join in prayers of gratitude, specifically to thank God for the sacrifices and resilience shown by Kenya’s freedom fighters and their descendants. Attendees will also discuss pressing issues concerning compensation for Mau Mau land claims and a broader recognition of their historical contributions.

In a statement, the organizers urged attendees to register in advance at the National Archives in Nairobi, on the second floor, as part of the foundation’s efforts to ensure orderly participation and to provide accurate records for continued advocacy.

Additionally they also plan to engage with national authorities to resolve longstanding issues around Mau Mau lands and the rights of descendants.

For more details on the registration process, or for questions related to the event, members of the public may contact National Coordinator Gikonyo wa Githiga at 0758 958 006 or Ev. James Njuguna Mahuria at 0722 837 882.
