The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has invited qualified Kenyans to apply for temporary electoral positions ahead of the February 26 by-elections in Isiolo South Constituency and the West Kabras, Evurore and Muminji wards.
In a notice, the electoral body said the available positions include Support Electoral Trainers, Presiding Officers, Deputy Presiding Officers and Polling Clerks. Interested applicants have been urged to submit their applications before the deadline of Monday, January 26.
The IEBC noted that the temporary roles are critical to the smooth conduct of the upcoming mini polls and form part of its efforts to ensure credible, transparent and efficient electoral processes during the by-elections.
Meanwhile, the Isiolo South by-election is drawing significant attention after a rare political showdown emerged between siblings contesting for the parliamentary seat.
Jubilee Party candidate Bina Mohamed is facing off against his brother, Tubi Mohammed, who is flying the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket. The seat fell vacant following the death of their father, setting the stage for a closely watched and historic contest in the constituency.
The IEBC has assured residents and stakeholders that it is fully prepared to deliver free, fair and credible by-elections across the affected areas.
