Guaranty Trust Bank (Kenya) Ltd (GTBank) has been unveiled as the headline sponsor of the upcoming Ol Pejeta Conservancy @20 Golf Tournament, an event celebrating two decades of impactful wildlife conservation efforts by the Ol Pejeta Conservancy. The tournament is slated for 31st May 2025 at the scenic Nanyuki Golf Club.

As part of its sponsorship, GTBank has committed Kshs 500,000 to support the milestone event. The bank’s backing is aimed at boosting sustainable conservation initiatives that protect endangered species while supporting local communities.

“Our sponsorship of the OPC@20 Golf Tournament goes beyond supporting sports; it’s a demonstration of our commitment to wildlife conservation,” said Jubril Adeniji, GTBank East Africa Regional Managing Director. “We believe that thriving communities and sustainable wildlife management go hand in hand, and through this sponsorship, GTBank aims to champion both.”

This year’s tournament carries special significance as Ol Pejeta Conservancy (OPC) commemorates 20 years of conserving Kenya’s rich biodiversity. The conservancy is globally recognized for its critical work in protecting endangered species, including being home to the last two remaining northern white rhinos on Earth.

Ken Kimani, Chief Commercial Officer at Ol Pejeta Conservancy, welcomed the partnership with enthusiasm: “We are thrilled to welcome GTBank as our Headline Sponsor for the OPC@20 Golf Tournament. Their generous support not only enhances the experience for participants but also contributes to our broader mission of conservation and community development.”

The golf tournament is expected to attract top-tier golfers, corporate leaders, and regional influencers, offering a unique opportunity to engage with a globally renowned conservation cause.

Other notable sponsors include Kenya Airways, Mount Kenya Wildlife Estate, Kings Collection, CFAO Mobility, Laikipia Conservancies Association, AMREF, Le Rustique, Maiyan Resort, Fairmont Mt. Kenya Safari Club, Serena Hotels, and Lofty Canopy—each contributing to a shared vision of a sustainable future for wildlife and communities alike.

As the OPC@20 celebrations continue, the upcoming tournament stands as a powerful symbol of the vital role corporate partnerships play in advancing conservation efforts in Kenya and beyond.
