ABC Bank has been recognized as the Best Bank in Customer Experience among Tier 3 banks during the 2026 Think Business Awards held in Nairobi, reaffirming its position as one of Kenya’s leading customer-focused financial institutions.

The lender also secured the 1st Runner Up position in Best Bank in Internet Banking and 2nd Runner Up in Best Bank in Sustainable Corporate Social Responsibility, highlighting its continued investment in digital innovation and responsible banking practices.

Awards celebrate strong and customer-focused banks

This year’s awards were held under the theme “Building strong, well-capitalised and fairly priced banks,” celebrating financial institutions that combine financial strength with meaningful value for customers.

Speaking after receiving the recognition, ABC Bank Group Managing Director Shamaz Savani said the award reflects the bank’s ongoing transformation journey and commitment to delivering customer-centered solutions.

“Winning the Best Bank in Customer Experience award at this year’s Think Business Banking Awards reflects our commitment to building a resilient, digital-first bank that translates financial strength into real value for our stakeholders,” he said.

He noted that through solutions such as ABConnect Internet Banking and the bank’s mobile banking platform, alongside impactful Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, ABC Bank continues to support businesses, individuals, and communities to grow and thrive.

Think Business plans AI-powered improvements

Think Business Limited Chief Executive Officer Ochieng Oloo said the institution is working on improving the awards process through technology and participant feedback.

“As we look forward to receiving feedback from participating banks on what worked well and where improvements can be made, we are taking steps aimed at strengthening the legacy of the Think Business Awards,” he said.

Oloo revealed that Think Business is currently piloting an artificial intelligence tool designed to improve submissions, with plans to roll it out next year to help banks present stronger and higher-quality entries.

Judges note stronger digital transformation among banks

Chief Judge Priscillah Mogaka said the 2026 awards attracted 160 submissions that were assessed by expert judges.

She noted that this year’s entries showed stronger digital transformation efforts, capital growth, and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) reporting narratives.

However, she added that some banks fell short due to insufficient supporting data and limited evidence of customer impact.

Strong performance continues for ABC Bank

ABC Bank’s latest recognition builds on a strong performance history at the Think Business Banking Awards.

In 2025, the bank was named Most Customer-Centric Bank, while in 2024 it earned 2nd Runner Up positions in both Best Bank to Borrow From and Best Bank in Product Marketing categories.

The 2026 awards further underscore the bank’s focus on strengthening operational foundations, improving service delivery, and accelerating digital innovation to meet the evolving needs of customers, businesses, and communities.
