NCBA Group has strengthened its efforts to simplify property ownership in Kenya through an exclusive property investment tour at Tatu City, bringing prospective homeowners and investors closer to property opportunities and financing solutions.
The engagement forms part of the bank’s PropertyDuka ecosystem, which seeks to provide customers with a seamless journey from discovering property to acquisition and financing.
The initiative comes at a time when homeownership remains a significant challenge, particularly in urban areas. According to the 2023/24 Kenya Housing Survey by the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS), only 7.7 per cent of households in Nairobi County own the homes they occupy, while 88.8 per cent rent or lease.
Nationally, urban homeownership stands at 22.8 per cent, highlighting the need for innovative solutions that can help more Kenyans transition from renting to owning homes.
The residential property market has also continued to record price movements. The latest KNBS Residential Property Price Index indicates that residential property prices increased by 4.8 per cent year-on-year in the first quarter of 2026, underscoring the importance of timely access to property opportunities, financing and professional guidance.
During the Tatu City tour, participants explored residential developments while engaging with Tatu City representatives and NCBA property finance specialists. The discussions covered property options for different customer segments, including first-time homeowners, existing mortgage customers seeking to refinance and borrowers looking to transfer their mortgages from other financial institutions.
NCBA Group Director for Retail Banking Dennis Njau said the initiative reflects the bank’s ambition to become a daily relevant ally to customers by combining expertise, partnerships and innovative financial solutions.
“ This Property Investment Tour demonstrates how we are bringing together trusted property partners, innovative financing and PropertyDuka to make the journey from finding a property to securing the financing needed to own it more seamless,” Njau said.
PropertyDuka serves as NCBA’s digital property ecosystem, enabling customers to discover and acquire verified property opportunities while accessing guidance from the bank’s property finance specialists.
The bank offers a range of financing options, including Kenya Mortgage Refinance Company (KMRC)-supported mortgage rates for qualifying properties valued below KES 15 million, alongside standard mortgage solutions for properties above that threshold.
Customers can also access Easy Build loans, construction financing, plot purchase loans, buy-and-build facilities, joint mortgages and mortgage financing of up to 105 per cent.
Beyond financing, NCBA offers additional support through in-house quantity surveyors, home insurance solutions and partnerships with home improvement providers. Customers can also benefit from flexible repayment arrangements, including no penalties on lump-sum repayments.
The Tatu City partnership demonstrates NCBA’s strategy of creating connected property ecosystems that bring developers, buyers, digital platforms and financial services together.
Through PropertyDuka and initiatives such as the investment tour, the bank is positioning itself to support customers throughout the property ownership journey, from identifying suitable opportunities to securing financing and ultimately achieving homeownership or investment goals.
