Samsung Electronics East Africa has officially launched the Galaxy S26 FE in the Kenyan market, expanding its premium smartphone range with a focus on artificial intelligence, camera capabilities and long-term software support.
The new smartphone introduces Samsung’s One UI 9 operating system to the flagship family and is designed to offer consumers advanced mobile technology while maintaining accessibility.
The device is expected to target Kenyan consumers looking for high-performance smartphones that can support productivity, communication and content creation.
Samsung Targets Growing Demand for Premium Devices
Samsung said the Galaxy S26 FE has been developed in response to changing consumer expectations for reliable and durable mobile devices with long-term value.
Jay Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of Customer Experience Office at Samsung Electronics, said the device was designed to bring key features of the company’s flagship smartphone range to a wider audience.
Manish Jangra, Head of Mobile Experience at Samsung, said Kenya remains an important market where smartphones play a growing role in productivity, entrepreneurship and everyday communication.
“With the Galaxy S26 FE, our objective is to lower the barrier to premium mobile experiences by providing our Kenyan customers with advanced AI productivity tools, reliable performance, and an exceptional camera,” Jangra said.
Galaxy S26 FE Features 6.7-Inch Display
The Galaxy S26 FE comes with a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display and a 120Hz refresh rate, aimed at delivering smoother scrolling and viewing experiences.
The smartphone is powered by a 4,900mAh battery and supports 45W charging. Samsung says the device can reach a 69 percent charge in approximately 30 minutes when used with a 45W adapter.
The phone also carries an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, adding protection for users in different environments.
Samsung has further committed to providing up to seven generations of operating system upgrades and seven years of security updates, extending the expected lifespan of the device.
Upgraded Camera Targets Content Creators
The Galaxy S26 FE features a triple-camera system comprising a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera and an 8MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom.
Samsung has incorporated several AI-powered imaging tools into the smartphone to support users creating content for both personal and professional purposes.
The My FanCam feature automatically keeps subjects centred during video recording, while Super Steady with Horizontal Lock is designed to provide more stable footage when users are moving.
Photo Assist allows users to make image edits using natural-language prompts, while Gemini Omni can automatically combine photos and other gallery content into polished video clips.
Device to Go on Sale September 4
The Galaxy S26 FE will officially go on sale in Kenya from September 4 through select retail channels and partner stores.
It will be available in Blueberry, Pistachio and Graphite colour options.
The 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant will retail at KSh103,100.
Samsung is also positioning the device as an upgrade-friendly option through an updated Smart Switch tool, which enables wireless transfer of data from both Android and iOS devices.
Local buyers will receive Samsung Care+ protection and a complimentary six-month trial of Google AI Pro, which provides expanded cloud storage and additional productivity features.
The launch further strengthens Samsung’s premium smartphone offering in Kenya as consumers increasingly look for devices that combine advanced hardware, AI capabilities and extended software support.
