Kenyan urban commuters looking for cheaper and cleaner ways to navigate the city have a new electric mobility option following the launch of the TVS iQube premium electric scooter.
TVS Motor Company launched the electric scooter in Kenya on August 8, 2026, marking the company’s first entry into the African electric mobility market. The model will be distributed through Car & General’s established sales and after-sales network across the country.
The launch comes as motorists face rising fuel and maintenance costs, while interest in electric vehicles grows among consumers seeking more affordable and environmentally friendly transport options.
The TVS iQube will be available in two variants, the iQube 3.5 and iQube 2.2. The iQube 3.5 features a 3.5 kWh battery capacity and offers a real-world range of up to 115 kilometres per charge, while the iQube 2.2 has a 2.2 kWh battery and a range of up to 75 kilometres.
Both variants are powered by a 4.6 kW hub-mounted motor. The iQube 3.5 has a top speed of 82 kilometres per hour, while the iQube 2.2 reaches 75 kilometres per hour. Both can accelerate from zero to 40 kilometres per hour in 4.2 seconds.
The scooters can be charged using a portable charger connected to a standard household power outlet. Charging the iQube 3.5 from zero to 80 per cent takes about two hours and 55 minutes, while the iQube 2.2 takes approximately two hours.
Through TVS Motor’s SmartXonnect platform, riders can access navigation, ride information and charging updates. The scooters also feature anti-theft protection, geofencing, crash and fall alerts, reverse and forward parking assist, and under-seat storage.
According to TVS Motor, riders could save approximately KSh47,000 annually compared with a conventional 125cc petrol scooter through lower energy and maintenance costs.
The iQube comes with a two-year or 30,000-kilometre warranty and nationwide after-sales support, strengthening Kenya’s growing electric mobility ecosystem.
