NCBA Bank has accelerated its regional digital banking strategy with the launch of NCBA NOW, its next-generation retail banking platform, and NCBA ConnectPlus, a new corporate internet banking solution, as the lender strengthens its position as a leading digital financial services provider across East Africa.
The platforms were unveiled simultaneously in Uganda and Rwanda, underscoring NCBA Group’s continued investment in borderless digital banking that enables customers to access financial services anytime and from anywhere.
Speaking during the launch in Kampala, Uganda, NCBA Bank Uganda Chief Executive Officer Mark Muyobo said the new platforms were developed in response to changing customer expectations and the growing demand for seamless digital banking experiences.
He noted that the bank aims to make banking simpler, smarter and more accessible by providing individuals and businesses with innovative solutions that support their financial ambitions.
Enhanced banking experience for individuals and businesses
NCBA NOW is designed to offer retail customers a modern mobile banking experience through a secure and intuitive platform. Customers can manage accounts, transfer funds, make payments, purchase airtime, monitor transactions, manage payment cards and access an expanding portfolio of digital financial services.
For businesses, NCBA ConnectPlus delivers an integrated digital banking solution tailored for corporates, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and institutions.
The platform enables organisations to manage multiple accounts, initiate domestic and international payments, process payroll and supplier payments, monitor liquidity in real time, generate financial reports and strengthen governance through configurable approval workflows, role-based access and enhanced security controls.
NCBA said the investment reflects its broader strategy of equipping businesses with tools that improve efficiency, visibility and financial control in an increasingly digital economy.
Supporting Uganda’s digital economy
During the launch, Bank of Uganda Executive Director for National Payment Systems Dr. Tumubweinee Twinemanzi commended NCBA for investing in secure digital financial services that support Uganda’s digital transformation.
He observed that innovations such as NCBA NOW and ConnectPlus promote financial inclusion, improve payment efficiency and contribute to building a more resilient and competitive financial sector, adding that innovation and regulation must continue working together to expand access to digital financial services.
NCBA Bank Uganda Board Chairperson Grace Jethro Kavuma said the launch demonstrates the bank’s long-term commitment to responsible innovation, customer trust and strong governance while contributing to Uganda’s economic growth.
Building on regional digital leadership
The launch builds on NCBA Group’s growing digital ecosystem, which today serves more than 70 million customers through its banking subsidiaries and fintech platforms, including LOOP, M-Shwari, Fuliza, MoKash, MoMoKash and M-PAWA.
