Dairyland has unveiled BLACKISH, Kenya’s first-ever black ice cream, introducing a bold new product aimed at consumers seeking unique and memorable experiences.
The new ice cream, featuring a distinctive black colour and a peppermint chocolate flavour, has been launched under Dairyland’s “One of One” campaign, which celebrates individuality, self-expression and originality.
According to the company, BLACKISH is designed to challenge conventional perceptions of ice cream by combining an eye-catching appearance with a refreshing blend of peppermint and rich chocolate.
“BLACKISH was created for people who are unapologetically themselves,” said Milan Kabata, Head of Marketing at Dairyland. “We wanted to create something that breaks expectations and delivers an experience that is as exciting as it is delicious. This is not just about introducing a new flavour. It’s about celebrating individuality.”
Dairyland says the product targets consumers who are increasingly drawn to experiences that are innovative, shareable and culturally relevant. The company believes BLACKISH aligns with growing demand for products that inspire curiosity and stand out in a competitive market.
The launch also underscores Dairyland’s commitment to local product innovation by introducing a concept not previously available in Kenya’s ice cream market.
The company expects BLACKISH to appeal to trendsetters, content creators and consumers looking for something different, positioning the product as both a dessert and a conversation starter.
BLACKISH is now available at selected retail outlets across Kenya.
