TECNO, the AI-driven innovative technology brand, has unveiled the latest evolution of its exploratory Beta-stage mobile AI agent, TECNO EllaClaw, as it advances efforts to bring practical agentic artificial intelligence (AI) into everyday smartphone experiences.
The upgraded EllaClaw is designed to help users complete daily tasks more efficiently through cross-app assistance, device management support, and proactive AI services while maintaining user control through permission safeguards and confirmation-based actions.
The development reflects TECNO’s Practical AI vision of making advanced artificial intelligence more accessible and useful for users in emerging markets, including Kenya, where smartphones play a central role in business, communication, travel, content creation, and personal productivity.
“With TECNO EllaClaw, we are exploring how agentic AI can become genuinely practical in real mobile life,” said Jack Guo, General Manager of TECNO. “Our goal is to create AI that helps simplify everyday tasks, reduce friction and make advanced experiences more accessible, while ensuring transparency and user control remain central to the experience.”
AI-Powered Device Management
Through more than 40 Smart Skills, EllaClaw introduces system-level intelligence that acts as a digital phone caretaker. The AI agent can assist with functions such as Smart CleanUp Boost, which helps improve device performance by freeing RAM and CPU resources, and Smart Power Drain Check, which identifies apps consuming excessive battery power.
The system also includes Instant Cool-down Relief, which optimises background activity during demanding tasks, and Smart Data Guardian, a feature designed to help users monitor mobile data consumption based on their usage habits.
TECNO said the features are developed with a confirmation-first approach, ensuring users remain informed and approve major system adjustments before they are completed.
Supporting Everyday Tasks Through Proactive AI
EllaClaw is designed to learn user habits and preferences through persistent memory, allowing it to provide more personalised assistance over time.
The AI agent can support daily routines such as generating morning briefings combining calendars, travel plans, weather updates and curated news. It can also assist with trip preparation by helping users organise schedules, arrange transport reminders and set departure alerts.
Beyond productivity, EllaClaw aims to support personal connections by providing reminders to communicate with family members or partners and offering real-time updates on changing weather conditions.
Bridging Apps with Smarter AI Assistance
A major advancement in EllaClaw is its ability to connect tasks across different digital platforms. With user permission, the AI agent can interact with categories including shopping, transportation, food delivery, smart home services and instant messaging.
Instead of operating as a hidden system, EllaClaw uses a visible graphical user interface (GUI) comprehension to navigate applications in a human-like way, allowing users to follow actions and maintain control throughout the process.
The technology can support natural-language commands, including requesting transport services, checking connected devices and assisting with shopping decisions within e-commerce platforms.
For Kenyan consumers who increasingly rely on smartphones for work, entrepreneurship and daily services, TECNO says EllaClaw represents a future where AI can reduce digital complexity and make mobile experiences more seamless.
Although still undergoing internal testing and closed beta development, TECNO said EllaClaw demonstrates its commitment to expanding access to advanced mobile AI experiences globally. Further details on availability and future capabilities will be announced as development continues.
