RHF Foundation, Mama Lucy Launch Free Mammogram Initiative For 100 Women

Ateast 100 women aged 35 years and above are set to benefit from free breast cancer screening under a new initiative aimed from RHF Foundation at promoting early detection and saving lives.

The program, dubbed the Valentine’s Free Mammogram Initiative, has been launched by the RHF Foundation in partnership with Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital. The campaign seeks to encourage women to prioritize preventive healthcare and embrace routine breast cancer screening.

Speaking during the launch, RHF Foundation Chief Executive Officer Paul Okoth said the initiative is designed not only to provide free mammograms but also to raise awareness about the importance of regular check-ups.

“Early detection can make the difference between life and loss. We are urging women to take charge of their breast health and seek screening before symptoms appear,” he said.

Breast cancer remains one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths among women in Kenya, with many cases diagnosed at advanced stages due to limited awareness and access to screening services. Health experts emphasize that routine mammograms significantly improve survival rates by detecting cancer early when it is most treatable.

Under the initiative, beneficiaries will undergo free mammography screening at Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital, with organizers urging eligible women to register early due to limited slots.

The Valentine-themed campaign also seeks to shift the narrative around love and care, encouraging women to show self-love by investing in their health.

Organizers expressed hope that the program will inspire more public and private sector partnerships to expand access to life-saving cancer screening services across the country.
