NCBA has extended a sponsorship amounting to Ksh 300, 000 for Kenyan Masters swimmers competing in the South Africa National Masters Swimming Championship to be held in George, South Africa, this March. The declaration came at a press conference in Nairobi on January 30, 2026, and it was a further demonstration of the bank’s commitment towards sports development and supporting healthy lifestyles.
The funds will be used to meet the team’s most basic needs, such as uniforms and covering some of the travel costs, thereby helping the swimmers to have all they require to adequately face the challenges of the continental competition.
Joint Training Session Marks Partnership
The collaboration was made public during a joint training session at Crawford International School where the swimmers polished their skills, increased their stamina, and worked on their team spirit as part of their last-minute preparations. The training was not only a test of their physical fitness but also an exhibition of the level of their motivation as they prepare to compete for Kenya internationally.

NCBAs Drive for Wellness and Community
NCBA Group Director of Marketing, Communication & Citizenship, Nelly Wainaina, remarked that the sponsorship is in line with the bank’s corporate social responsibility
“The decision to support the swimmers aligns with the bank’s corporate social responsibility focus to promote wellness, healthy living, and community development. Masters swimming is a powerful example of sport as a lifelong lifestyle, where athletes continue to push themselves, stay fit, and inspire younger generations long after their competitive youth years.”
Stakeholders Welcome the Support
Kenya’s Aquatics Technical Director Omar Omari acknowledged NCBA’s help with enthusiasm and described Masters swimming in Kenya as a flourishing discipline being carried on by very committed athletes and stakeholders.
He urged the corporations to be more involved in swimming as he gave swimming as an example of a source that can create purpose, driven and disciplined communities.
Kenya Masters Team Captain Peter Nduati also appreciated the sponsorship, noting that it was a timely boost to their preparations and that it would greatly enhance the team’s confidence as they look forward to the championships.
Second Year of Continued Support
This is the second year in a row that NCBA has been the major sponsor of Kenyan Masters swimmers. Back in 2025, NCBA bank sponsored the team that represented Kenya at the World Aquatics Masters Swimming Championship in Singapore thus giving a clear indication that NCBA is a partner in the long term of the kind of initiatives that lead to healthier societies.
