TECNO Celebrates Africa’s Tech-Driven Creativity at AFCON Glory Night

In an effort to expand its footprint across the world, TECNO has only strengthened its hold in the technology industry in Africa with the hosting of the TECNO Glory Night Awards, an historic event that took place on the sidelines of the AFCON, an event that happened in Morocco.

The event chose the best African influencers, most of whom relied on the “Power Your Moment” philosophy.

The development is particularly significant as TECNO strengthens its collaboration with AFCON, entering a new cycle where it is set to become the Official Global Partner, 2025-2027.

Apart from football, the Glory Night Awards focused on how mobile technology, AI, and digital storytelling are influencing the creator economy in Africa.

Influencers from over 20 African countries, AFCON legends, media partners, and representatives from TECNO’s ecosystem were in attendance at the ceremony. The event is indicative of TECNO’s approach of integrating consumer technology, sports, and digital culture to increase brand engagement on the African continent.

From a technical point of view, the awards were about the use of smartphone innovations such as mobile photography, AI capabilities, and social media platforms to create high-impact content. Awards such as Visual Master Award and Creative Spark Award were a clear demonstration of TECNO’s focus on advanced cameras, image processing, and creativity built-in within their smartphones.

There was strong representation from Kenya during this event with more than 30 delegates, including influencers and content creators. This kind of representation of Kenyan delegates, including winner @therealchiche during the award as part of the Creative Spark Award category, showcased the country’s growing prominence in the digital content and technology-based creative space in Africa.

TECNO offered five prestigious awards, which celebrate passion for storytelling, online reach, creativity and innovation, visual mastery, and collaboration as a brand. Recipient countries include Nigeria, Kenya, Morocco, Egypt, Mali, Senegal, Cameroon, Tanzania, and Ivory Coast, which indicates the widescale nature of the campaign in Africa.

TECNO Partner Award remains distinctive as it recognised the essence of collaborations between creators in the long term, in sync with the brand’s emphasis on TECNO AI and smart technology communication. It highlighted the value of partnerships in rendering complicated technological inventions into comprehensible, human-interest tales.

The Glory Night Awards have enabled TECNO to showcase not only their brand as a smartphone company but also present themselves as a technology facilitator of the digital expression of Africa, and they achieved this on the global stage of AFCON.
