Safaricom offers a 25 per cent discount on new business fibre connections

1 Mins read

Safaricom PLC has announced a 25 per cent discount on all new fibre connections for businesses located within fibre-ready buildings for the next two months.

However, the announcement was made during the Nairobi edition of the Grow with Safaricom Business Forum. An initiative aimed at empowering entrepreneurs with tools. Set to  accelerate growth through affordable finance, digitisation, and enhanced market access.

Empowering entrepreneurs through connectivity

“Our commitment at Safaricom Business is to power business growth through products and solutions that matter to entrepreneurs. This offer on fibre to the business will ensure MSMEs have access to the fastest, most reliable internet that matches their ambitions.” Said Frankline Okata, Acting Chief Enterprise Business Officer, Safaricom PLC.

The Nairobi forum, themed ‘Fuelling Financial Growth Through Innovation’, attracted a diverse group of entrepreneurs from the city’s vibrant SME sector. Further, participants discussed strategies for growth, innovation, and navigating the challenges facing small businesses in a rapidly evolving economic environment.

Addressing SME challenges

According to the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics, over 70 per cent of small businesses fail within the first three years. This is primarily due to cash flow constraints or limited market access.

“These challenges present an opportunity for collaboration and growth. We have introduced business credit solutions that leverage transaction history and real-time business performance to offer practical, accessible, and flexible credit solutions tailored to the needs of entrepreneurs,” Okata added.

Nationwide impact of the forum

Furthermore, the Grow with Safaricom Business Forums have already reached thousands of entrepreneurs across Kenya through both in-person and virtual events.

Additionally, the initiative continues to be a platform for sharing knowledge, networking, and fostering innovative solutions that drive sustainable business growth.
