Five family members killed in grisly revenge attack in Kisii

1 Mins read

Authorities in Kisii County have launched investigations into a horrific incident in which five members of the same family were brutally murdered in what is believed to be a revenge attack.

The incident occurred early Friday morning in Siroroko village, Masaba South Sub-County, when a mob armed with crude weapons descended on a homestead and viciously attacked the family. According to officials, the attackers also set two houses ablaze during the raid.

Confirming the attack, Masaba South Deputy County Commissioner Jane Munene said one member of the family managed to escape and later reported the incident at Ramasha Police Station.

“A security meeting has been convened to address the matter,” said Munene. “We are urging residents to come forward with any information they may have. They can share it anonymously to help us take swift and appropriate action.”

Among the five victims was a woman and her child who were reportedly visiting the home at the time of the attack.

While many residents were unwilling to speak on camera due to fears of retaliation, some anonymously alleged that the slain family members had earlier been suspected of involvement in another person’s death, which they allegedly tried to cover up — an accusation believed to have fueled the deadly retaliation.

As investigations continue, security agencies are calling for calm and cooperation from the community to prevent further violence and ensure justice is served.
