Safaricom PLC has announced a scheduled maintenance exercise for its mobile money platform, M-PESA, set to take place in the early hours of Monday, April 7, 2025.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the telecom giant said the maintenance will occur between 1:00 AM and 1:30 AM, during which M-PESA services will be available intermittently.
The company noted that the 30-minute maintenance window has been carefully scheduled to minimize disruptions for customers. Other Safaricom services, including voice calls, SMS, and mobile data, will remain unaffected throughout the exercise.
Safaricom emphasized that the upgrade is part of its ongoing efforts to enhance service delivery and ensure a more reliable, safe, and secure customer experience.
“We are continuously innovating and enhancing our services to connect our customers with endless possibilities,” the statement read. “We apologize for any inconvenience caused and thank you for choosing us as your trusted service provider.”
M-PESA is one of the most widely used mobile money platforms in Kenya, with millions of daily transactions ranging from personal transfers to business payments.
