MSEA Director of Infrastructure Development and Innovation, Eng. Edward Karani
The Micro and Small Enterprises Authority (MSEA), in collaboration with SNV, has launched the first phase of strategic awareness forums aimed at strengthening the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector in Kenya.
The initiative seeks to enhance business resilience, promote sustainability, and drive economic growth through informed entrepreneurship. Speaking at the launch in Kisumu, MSEA Director of Infrastructure Development and Innovation, Eng. Edward Karani emphasized the importance of market linkages in helping MSMEs scale their businesses and improve competitiveness.
“For MSMEs to thrive, we must strengthen market linkages and create an enabling business environment. These forums will provide entrepreneurs with valuable insights on business resilience and sustainability,” said Eng. Karani.
The strategic forums will equip small business owners with essential skills and knowledge to navigate economic challenges, access new markets, and leverage innovation for growth.
By collaborating with SNV, an international development organization, MSEA aims to enhance financial literacy, digital transformation, and business networking opportunities for MSMEs across Kenya.
The forums will also address key challenges faced by small businesses including market access, financial constraints, regulatory compliance, and technology adoption, aiming to enhance business resilience and competitiveness.
The Kisumu event marks the first step in a nationwide rollout, targeting MSMEs in various counties. The initiative aligns with Kenya’s Vision 2030, which prioritizes MSME development as a key driver of economic transformation.
The government and its partners continue to explore innovative solutions to support small businesses, recognizing their significant contribution to job creation and economic growth.
