2 Mins read

Safaricom’s festive caravan, part of its Sambaza Furaha campaign, continues to bring Christmas cheer to residents across the Greater Western Region, now in its third week. The campaign, which kicked off earlier this month, is designed to reward loyal customers while also delivering essential services and engaging communities through various initiatives.

The caravan began its Western Region journey in Kondele, Kisumu County, before winding through towns such as Majengo, Mbale, Chavakali, and Bungoma. Residents have been treated to a wide range of giveaways, including live goats, chickens, food hampers, airtime, and other festive gifts.

In addition to the giveaways, Safaricom has set up mobile customer care stations to offer services closer to the community. At the Kondele Market launch, Zizwe Awuor, Safaricom’s Director of Brand and Marketing, expressed gratitude to the company’s customers:

“We are delighted to officially kick off our caravan tour of the Greater Western region. This is our way of celebrating and appreciating our customers for being part of our journey this far.”

For residents like Jacinta Otieno of Kisumu County, the campaign has brought meaningful joy. After receiving a goat for her family’s Christmas celebration, she said:

“I honestly don’t know how to thank Safaricom enough for this generous gift. My family now has something special to enjoy during this festive season.”

Beyond gifting, Safaricom has integrated impactful community programs into the Sambaza Furaha campaign. Highlights include:

Youth Empowerment: Digital skills workshops led by S-Hook at Kakamega’s Muliro Gardens.

Business Development: A Grow My Business Forum for SMEs and a Home Fibre Clinic in Kisumu to help local entrepreneurs leverage technology.

Healthcare Support: A free medical camp at Menyenye SDA School in Nyamira County.

Safaricom is also expanding its service network, with plans to launch new franchise shops in several towns, ensuring greater accessibility and convenience for customers.

The caravan will continue its journey through the week, visiting towns across Nyanza and Western Kenya. Key stops include:

Tuesday, November 26: Bungoma, Mumias, and Kakamega.

Wednesday, November 27: Siaya, Ugunja, and Bondo.

Thursday, November 28: Kisumu, Ahero, and Oyugis.

Friday, November 29: Homa Bay, Rongo, and Migori.

Saturday, November 30: Kisii and surrounding towns.

The Sambaza Furaha campaign is part of Safaricom’s broader strategy to strengthen customer relationships during the festive season. By combining giveaways, impactful community projects, and business empowerment, the campaign reflects Safaricom’s commitment to enhancing lives and fostering a sense of community across Kenya.

With stops scheduled through November, the Sambaza Furaha caravan is set to make the festive season unforgettable for countless families and businesses in the region.
