Airtel Kenya launches Data IMEData campaign to Boost weekly and monthly data plans

1 Mins read

Airtel Kenya has unveiled the “Data ImeData Campaign,” a new initiative that enhances data offerings for its Weekly and Monthly plan subscribers by up to 50 percent, without increasing prices. With price points between Ksh 50 and Ksh 1000, the campaign is positioned as a Christmas offer, aimed at meeting the rising data demands of customers as they prepare for the festive season.

Under the revamped structure, Airtel’s Weekly and Monthly Amazing Data bundles will provide significantly more data than before, allowing users to experience smoother online browsing and streaming. For instance, the Amazing Weekly 50 plan will now offer 450MB, up from the previous 350MB, while the Amazing Monthly 1000 plan will provide 18GB, up from 12GB. Notably, the Amazing Monthly 250 plan will retain its 3GB allocation but will be reduced in price from Ksh 300 to Ksh 250, adding further value for customers.

Speaking at the launch, Airtel Kenya Managing Director, Ashish Malhotra, emphasized the company’s focus on affordability and convenience. “Our primary goal is to ensure that all our customers consistently enjoy affordable, convenient, and market-leading services that evolve with their needs,” he said. “These new data plans are designed to provide enhanced capacity, offering more seamless and reliable connections.”

In addition to the increased data, the Data ImeData Campaign includes Free WhatsApp for all bundles, allowing users to stay connected without additional data costs. Customers can also share bundles with other Airtel users and extend the validity of their bundles through auto-renewal or by purchasing another bundle before the current one expires.

The initiative aligns with Airtel Kenya’s continued investment in its 4G and 5G network infrastructure to ensure customers can enjoy faster and more reliable connectivity. With the rapid increase in data consumption across the country, Airtel aims to support the digital aspirations of Kenyans through innovative solutions.

According to the Communications Authority of Kenya, data is now a primary driver of internet adoption, accounting for 97.2 percent of all subscriptions. Responding to this demand, Airtel has consistently introduced new products, such as the ‘GB kwa GB’ campaign launched in August, which encouraged Kenyans to upgrade their devices to enjoy a faster, more enhanced network experience.

The new Amazing Weekly and Monthly data plans are available through Airtel’s USSD *544# code and the My Airtel app.
