In a tragic turn of events, Kiambu Nominated Ward Representative Ezra Kabugi Kihara lost his life early Sunday morning in a road accident on Thika Road in Juja. The incident occurred as he was traveling from Nairobi to Thika town, resulting in his vehicle colliding with a lorry.
According to police reports, Kihara was driving a Subaru Forester when he rammed into the rear of an Isuzu FRR lorry. The impact was devastating, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Eyewitness accounts and footage from the incident revealed that Kihara’s vehicle caught fire following the collision.
The accident took place near Mangu High School, and local authorities have since towed both vehicles to a nearby police station for further inspection. Kihara’s body has been transported to Montezuma Funeral Home, pending a postmortem examination.
Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi confirmed the news of Kihara’s passing via his communications team, expressing profound sorrow over the loss of a dedicated public servant. Wamatangi praised Kihara as a vibrant and promising leader, emphasizing his unwavering commitment to improving the lives of those in Kiambu County.
“His work in the County Assembly and in Kiambu will be remembered as proof of his commitment to making a difference. He was a friendly and kind person, always driven to improve the lives of those around him,” Wamatangi stated on his official X page.
The governor extended his condolences to Kihara’s family and the Kiambu County Assembly, acknowledging the significant impact Kihara had on his community. “During this difficult time, I stand with the family in grief and prayer. May God grant you strength and comfort as you navigate through this immense loss. We share in your sorrow and honor his memory, which will live on in the legacy he leaves behind,” Wamatangi added.
