Nairobi, Kenya – September 13, 2024– I&M Bank has inaugurated the I&M@50 Golf Series, a five-tournament series marking the bank’s 50th anniversary. The series commenced at Limuru Country Club on September 13, 2024, and will continue through November, featuring events at notable golf clubs across Kenya.
The I&M@50 Golf Series is part of I&M Bank’s broader strategy to engage more deeply with its customers and stakeholders. This year, the bank has significantly increased its investment in golf, with funding rising from Kes 9 million in 2023 to Kes 13 million in 2024. The series expands from three tournaments last year to five this year, reflecting a growing commitment to the sport.

- Limuru Country Club – Friday, September 13, 2024
- Sigona Golf Club – Saturday, October 19, 2024
- Nyali Golf Club – Saturday, November 9, 2024
- Vetlab Sports Club – Friday, November 22, 2024
- Muthaiga Golf Club – Saturday, November 30, 2024
These events aim to foster networking opportunities for existing and potential customers as well as members of the participating golf clubs.
Stanley Gachoki, I&M Bank’s Head of Distribution and Premium Banking, highlighted the significance of the initiative. “In our 50th year, we are investing heavily in stakeholder engagement to celebrate our legacy. This effort is not only about showing appreciation to our customers but also about connecting with them to gather feedback and insights. This strategy has contributed to significant growth in customer numbers and revenue, as demonstrated by our half-year results,” Gachoki stated. He also noted that I&M Bank’s leadership in customer experience excellence was reaffirmed with a top ranking in the Kenya Banking Consumer Sentiment on Social Media Index by Data EQ.

David Ndung’u, Chairman of the Kenya Golf Union, was the chief guest at the launch. Ndung’u praised I&M Bank’s commitment to developing golf in Kenya. “With private sector entities like I&M Bank showing a strong interest in this sport, I am confident that the future of golf is bright. I look forward to furthering this partnership and achieving new milestones together,” Ndung’u said. Ndung’u, a member of Limuru Country Club, was elected Chairman of the Kenya Golf Union in May 2024, succeeding Philip Ochola.
