Airtel Kenya Expands Presence with New Airtel Money Branch in Mombasa

Mombasa, August 7, 2024— Airtel Kenya has inaugurated a new Airtel Money Branch in Mombasa’s Central Business District (CBD), marking a significant expansion of its services in the coastal region. The new branch, located on Haille Selassie Road off Digo Road, aims to enhance the accessibility and convenience of Airtel Money services amidst a growing customer base and increasing demand in the area.

This latest addition increases Airtel Kenya’s network of Airtel Money branches to over 2,600 nationwide. The branch is designed to support the expanding network of Airtel Money agents in Mombasa, offering services such as float purchase and balancing. It will also serve small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the CBD by providing Airtel Money Paybill and Till numbers.

Anne Kinuthia Otieno, Airtel Money Managing Director, emphasized the importance of the new branch in meeting the needs of both customers and agents. “This branch is a testament to our commitment to improving access and convenience for our Airtel Money services,” she said. “It will enhance the efficiency and reliability of our services, ensuring that agents can easily manage float purchases and balancing.”

Victor Ngumo, Sales & Distribution Director at Airtel Kenya, highlighted the strategic significance of the branch. “The opening of this new branch reflects our dedication to enhancing the customer experience and supporting our agents. It reinforces our commitment to Mombasa’s economic development and ensures that our services are delivered with promptness and efficiency,” Ngumo stated.

The new Airtel Money Branch will offer a range of services including deposits and withdrawals, float purchase and balancing, SIM activation, Home Broadband devices, airtime sales, SIM swaps, and general customer inquiries. It aims to serve as a key distribution point for Mombasa CBD and the surrounding areas, further solidifying Airtel’s presence and support in the region.
