12 Killed in Tragic Road Accident on Nakuru-Eldoret Highway

Twelve people have lost their lives following a tragic road accident at Migaa area along the Nakuru-Eldoret Highway.

The fatal crash, which occurred at around 2 a.m. on Friday, involved a passenger matatu carrying 11 occupants and a trailer transporting coffee seeds.

According to reports, the trailer, which was heading towards Eldoret, suffered a brake failure, causing the driver to lose control. The vehicle then veered off its lane and rammed into the matatu, which was traveling from Kitale to Nairobi.

Confirming the incident, the area chief stated that all 11 occupants of the matatu, including the driver, died on the spot. The driver of the trailer also lost his life in the crash.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene to assist, while authorities have launched investigations into the accident. The tragic incident adds to the growing concern over road safety on the busy highway.
