NCBA Investment Bank Launches Offshore Investment Solutions to Cater to Global-Minded Investors

2 Mins read

NCBA Investment Bank has officially launched its comprehensive Offshore Investment Solutions, providing Kenyan investors with professional access to global markets and diversified wealth-building opportunities.

The move comes amid rising demand for international investment options in a region increasingly affected by currency fluctuations and macroeconomic volatility.

The new offering is designed to empower clients with a suite of professionally-managed investment products, including exposure to global equities, bonds, and other offshore assets, while mitigating risks associated with purely domestic investments.

“We’re utilising our global presence, market knowledge, and expertise to create a solid offshore investment setup. Our goal is to ensure it meets all regulatory standards in various markets and truly connects with our clients’ needs, helping them invest their capital safely while aiming for reliable returns,” said Muathi Kilonzo, Managing Director, NCBA Investment Bank.

The launch responds to evolving client needs in Kenya’s growing wealth landscape. According to the Africa Wealth Report 2025, Kenya ranks fifth on the continent and hosts approximately 6,800 high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs). The initiative also aligns with strategic efforts to position Nairobi as a leading financial hub in Africa.

NCBA’s offshore solutions cater to a wide spectrum of investors:

Pooled Investment Funds: Professionally managed unit trusts and special funds denominated in US Dollars, such as the NCBA Global Fixed Income Special Fund and NCBA Global Equity Special Fund, starting from a minimum investment of USD 1,000.

Execution Mandates and Custody Services: Platforms for sophisticated investors to manage and safeguard offshore assets while executing investments across diverse instruments.

Bespoke Segregated Portfolios: Fully customized solutions for ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) clients, family offices, and institutions, offering direct access to global equities, bonds, and other exclusive offshore opportunities.

The solutions also address the needs of corporate clients engaged in international trade and diaspora Kenyans earning foreign currencies who are seeking investment products aligned with their global financial footprint.

All offerings are anchored in strict international compliance frameworks, with adherence to Know Your Customer (KYC), Anti-Money Laundering (AML) standards, and the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA).

The launch was unveiled during the 5th Annual Abojani Economic Forum, where NCBA served as a key sponsor. The forum gathered young professionals, emerging investors, SMEs, and financially-savvy Kenyans seeking guidance on wealth creation, long-term investment, and financial planning, making it a fitting platform to showcase this strategic initiative.

With this move, NCBA Investment Bank positions itself at the forefront of global investment solutions in Kenya, enabling clients to safeguard and grow their wealth beyond local market constraints.
