NCBA Bank has announced a strategic partnership with Edu Hub, a university placement service provider, to offer tailored financial solutions that support students pursuing higher education both locally and abroad. This initiative aims to bridge the financial gap for Kenyan students seeking global academic opportunities and diaspora customers looking to finance education in Kenya or overseas.
Through the partnership, NCBA will provide education loans designed to cover tuition fees and other academic expenses. These loans will be available as personal unsecured and secured loans, allowing customers to leverage their assets to fund education.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, NCBA Ag. Group Director, Retail Banking, Dennis Njau, reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to supporting students and their families.
“As a bank committed to customer satisfaction, we have sought this partnership to enable families with financing solutions that make education more affordable and accessible. Financial restrictions should not be a barrier to academic excellence, and we have curated affordable loans under our diaspora banking offering to help students achieve their dreams,” he said.
The partnership also enhances NCBA’s Diaspora Banking services, offering specialized financial solutions for Kenyans relocating abroad, those established in the diaspora, and those returning to Kenya.
Edu Hub CEO James Ngigi highlighted the challenges students face in financing higher education, stating. “As stakeholders in the education sector, we have seen students miss out on opportunities due to financial constraints. This partnership with NCBA ensures qualified students have access to structured, flexible, and stable financial products that will help them achieve their academic dreams.”
NCBA’s move aligns with Kenya’s broader vision for education diplomacy and international academic collaboration. Speaking at the event, Amb. Joseph Warui, Deputy High Commissioner to the Court of St. James (Kenya High Commission – London), praised the collaboration:
“We are extremely proud of NCBA and Edu Hub for coming together to define the future of education diplomacy. This partnership ensures students—both local and abroad—can access financial solutions that unlock unlimited possibilities and foster global connections.”
As the exclusive financial partner in this initiative, NCBA is positioning itself as a leader in education financing and diaspora banking solutions. The bank encourages parents and students to explore these funding options and meet with NCBA representatives to create tailored financial plans that meet their needs.
This partnership is expected to increase access to higher education, enhance NCBA’s brand presence in the education financing sector, and provide students and families with affordable, structured, and accessible financial aid.
