Electronics giant LG has unveiled an innovative mobile customer support unit, the LG Best Care Trailer, designed to deliver faster and more convenient after-sales services across East Africa.
The 40-foot trailer, launched at Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi, will serve as a roving service centre equipped with diagnostic tools, spare parts, and skilled technicians. It will provide on-site technical assistance for a wide range of LG products, including smart TVs, refrigerators, washing machines, and audio systems.
Customers will be able to have their products assessed, minor repairs done on-site, and receive guidance on maintenance without the hassle of visiting a service centre.
The rollout comes amid a surge in demand for LG products. In 2024, LG’s OLED TVs accounted for 57.5 percent of the global premium TV market, with the company shipping over 22.6 million TVs worldwide, representing 16.1 percent of global TV market revenue.
Similar growth has been recorded across its laundry and built-in appliance categories, making after-sales support increasingly critical.
LG East Africa President Donghun Lee said the mobile solution addresses growing consumer needs in rapidly expanding urban centres.
“For many Kenyans, accessing centralized service points can be time-consuming and costly, especially in busy cities like Nairobi. The LG Best Care Trailer brings expert support directly to customers’ doorsteps, ensuring their appliances continue to function efficiently,” he said.
The trailer will begin operations in Nairobi, making scheduled stops in areas such as Eastlands, South B, Kasarani, Westlands, and Kilimani, with weekly routes announced via LG East Africa’s social media pages.
Beyond servicing, the trailer is also multi-purpose: it includes a moving LED billboard, a stage with sound and lighting for talent showcases, and space for community engagement activities.
LG Service Director Ronald Mitei emphasized that customer satisfaction extends beyond the point of purchase.
“The LG Best Care Trailer reflects our commitment to ensuring customers attain maximum value from their investment,” he noted.
Following the Nairobi pilot, LG plans to extend the initiative to other Kenyan towns, including Mombasa, Kisumu, and Nakuru, before expanding into Uganda, Tanzania, and Zambia.
