Iran fires massive barrage of missiles to Israel, explosive rocks Tel Aviv

1 Mins read

Iran has launched a massive counterattack against Israel, firing hundreds of ballistic missiles and drones in retaliation for Israel’s deadly strikes earlier Friday that killed several of Iran’s top military commanders and nuclear scientists.

The Iranian response marks a dramatic escalation in an already volatile regional conflict. Black smoke was seen rising above Tel Aviv’s skyline following a series of loud explosions, and similar blasts were reported in Jerusalem. Air raid sirens wailed across major Israeli cities, as defense systems worked to intercept the incoming barrage.

According to Iranian state media, the missile offensive is a direct response to what Tehran called “an unprecedented act of aggression” by Israel, which earlier targeted Iran’s nuclear infrastructure and military leadership. Among those killed in the Israeli operation were top-ranking commanders, including the commander-in-chief of Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guard, and several prominent nuclear scientists.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed the ongoing military campaign, describing it as “one of the greatest military operations in history.” In a televised statement, Netanyahu addressed the Iranian people directly:

“To the proud people of Iran — we are in the midst of Operation Rising Lion. The Islamic regime, which has oppressed you for almost 50 years, threatens to destroy our country, the State of Israel. This aggression will not go unanswered. More is on the way.”

As Iranian missiles rained down, the Israeli emergency service, Magen David Adom (MDA), reported that at least 17 people had been injured in the strikes. Among the injured are two individuals in serious condition and two others who sustained moderate injuries. Emergency teams remain on high alert across the country.

The United States is reportedly assisting Israel in intercepting the incoming Iranian missiles and drones. A senior U.S. defense official confirmed that American military assets in the region are actively engaged in defending Israeli airspace.

U.S. President Donald Trump, speaking to CNN, reaffirmed American support for Israel. “Of course we support Israel in its actions,” Trump said. “Iran must agree to a nuclear deal before there is nothing left. This is their final warning.”

With tensions at a boiling point and military action unfolding in real time, global powers are calling for restraint. However, both Israel and Iran show no signs of de-escalating, as each side continues to exchange fierce rhetoric and deadly strikes.
