LG Introduces 25-Hour Battery Party Speaker Across East Africa

LG Electronics has introduced its new xboom Stage 501 portable party speaker across East Africa, targeting music lovers with a device that combines powerful sound, artificial intelligence (AI)-powered karaoke and interactive lighting.

Launched on Friday, November 6, 2026, the speaker is designed to turn ordinary music listening into an interactive entertainment experience by allowing users to convert songs from their existing playlists into karaoke tracks.

The launch forms part of LG’s efforts to expand its connected audio products and bring innovative entertainment technologies closer to consumers across the region.

“With the LG xboom Stage 501, we set out to simplify how people enjoy music together by removing the need for dedicated karaoke tracks or complex setup,” said LG Electronics East Africa President Donghun Lee.

Lee said the new speaker was developed to make shared music experiences easier without requiring users to search for special karaoke versions of their favourite songs. The speaker features an AI Karaoke Master system that allows users to remove vocals from almost any song and adjust the musical key to suit their singing range. Through its built-in AI Vocal Remover and Key Changer, users can control these settings directly on the speaker or through a companion application.

Beyond karaoke, the xboom Stage 501 delivers up to 220 watts of audio output when connected to a power source and 160 watts when running on battery power. Its sound system combines audio expertise from American musician will.i.am with premium components developed by Peerless to produce balanced sound and strong bass across different music genres.

The device also features AI-powered sound and lighting technologies designed to adjust entertainment settings automatically. AI Sound optimises audio according to the type of content being played, while Space Calibration Pro analyses the surrounding environment and adjusts sound output to suit the space. Additionally, AI Lighting synchronises lighting effects with music, creating a more engaging atmosphere during social gatherings and parties.

The speaker’s design prioritises portability and flexible use. It features a dual-handle system and can be positioned upright, horizontally, at an angle or mounted on a pole, depending on the user’s needs. Its lighting system includes dual-bar LED lights, strobe effects and illuminated accents on the control panel. The product has also received recognition through the Red Dot Design Award 2026 and iF Design Award 2026.

For extended entertainment, the xboom Stage 501 offers up to 25 hours of battery life and comes with a replaceable battery, allowing users to continue enjoying music for longer periods. The durable construction and portable design make the speaker suitable for both indoor and outdoor activities, including home entertainment, parties and other social events.

The Stage 501 joins LG’s expanding xboom range, which includes the Mini, Rock, Grab, Bounce and Stage 301, strengthening the company’s presence in the lifestyle audio market.
