ALP REIT Announces First US$930,000 Dividend to Investors

Africa Logistics Properties (ALP) has announced its first dividend payment of US$930,434 to investors in its Industrial Real Estate Investment Trust (ALP REIT), marking a milestone for the Nairobi Securities Exchange-listed investment vehicle.

The distribution will be paid to eligible investors registered by the close of business on November 18, 2026, with payments scheduled for November 27, 2026. Listed on the NSE in March 2026, ALP REIT is Kenya’s first industrial income real estate investment trust and the first US dollar-denominated REIT on the exchange. It gives investors an opportunity to earn income from industrial and logistics properties.

ALP plans to introduce quarterly dividend payments as its property portfolio expands, allowing investors to receive income more frequently in a market where listed REITs have typically distributed dividends annually.

“With the first dividend from the ALP REIT, we are beginning to deliver on the income proposition that underpins the platform,” said Africa Logistics Properties Chief Executive Officer Raghav Gandhi. He added that the company would continue expanding its portfolio with strategically located properties designed to meet businesses’ needs. He pointed to Kivu’s rapid occupancy as a sign of demand for quality logistics facilities.

The announcement coincides with the launch of Kivu, a new 11,000-square-metre logistics development at ALP West Logistics Park in Tilisi. The property is a potential future addition to the REIT as ALP pursues its strategy of developing and acquiring high-quality logistics assets.

Kivu reached approximately 85 per cent occupancy within its first month of completion, making it the fastest-filled phase at ALP West Logistics Park. Its anchor tenant is a distribution partner for a major hypermarket chain, highlighting the facility’s role in supporting Kenya’s retail and supply chain operations.

The development comes as growing trade and expanding regional supply chains increase demand for modern logistics facilities across East Africa. Such infrastructure helps manufacturers, distributors and importers store and move goods more efficiently.

“The ALP West Kivu warehouse shows what the UK-Kenya partnership can deliver. Better logistics can mean less waste, fewer delays and more opportunities for Kenyan businesses to grow and reach new markets,” said British High Commissioner Matt Baugh.

ALP REIT received approval from the Capital Markets Authority in December 2025 before its NSE listing in March 2026. Its development has been supported by US$24 million from the UK Government through the MOBILIST programme and the Private Infrastructure Development Group, via its project development arm, InfraCo Africa.

With Kivu, ALP’s completed warehouse portfolio in Kenya stands at approximately 80,000 square metres across ALP North Logistics Park in Tatu City and ALP West Logistics Park in Tilisi.

The company plans to expand its logistics platform and add more income-generating assets to the REIT over time. Leasing opportunities remain available at Kivu for businesses seeking modern warehousing space
