Co-operative Bank of Kenya has partnered with Fanaka Real Estate to make it easier for Kenyans to acquire land and finance the construction of homes through tailored property financing solutions.
Under the partnership, Fanaka Real Estate will provide land opportunities to prospective property owners, while Co-op Bank will offer financing to customers seeking to purchase land and develop it.
The collaboration covers solutions including the Kenya Mortgage Refinance Company (KMRC) Home Loan and Co-op Bank’s Buy-and-Build Mortgage, allowing customers to finance their property journey from land acquisition to construction.
Speaking during the signing of the partnership, Co-op Bank Head of Mortgage Finance Fridah Mitei said the lender has the scale, reach and capacity to support customers across the country.
“We are committed to putting our customers at the heart of everything we do. Today we bring that strength together with Fanaka Real Estate, a growing player in Kenya’s property market with projects across key growth corridors and four branches,” Mitei said.
She said Fanaka Real Estate’s focus on turning property aspirations into reality aligns with Co-op Bank’s objective of supporting customers in achieving homeownership and wealth creation.
Fanaka Real Estate Chief Executive Officer Moses Muriithi said the partnership would enable more Kenyans to acquire land in locations of their choice and proceed to develop homes on the properties.
“We will have more Kenyans come on board and not only have a piece of land, but also somewhere they can put up a home, continue their legacy because as we know land goes beyond just an investment,” Muriithi said.
The partnership is expected to provide prospective homeowners with a more integrated route to property ownership by combining land opportunities with access to financing.
Co-op Bank said the collaboration reinforces its commitment to making homeownership more accessible to Kenyans through financing solutions designed to support different stages of the property acquisition and construction process.
The bank has more than KSh869 billion in total assets and reported KSh23.1 billion in profit before tax for the first half of 2026. It has a network of 223 branches, 619 SACCO front offices, more than 16,000 Co-op Kwa Jirani agents and 609 ATMs and cash deposit machines.
Customers seeking to begin their property ownership journey can access the financing solutions through Co-op Bank’s GoodHome Mortgage Property Hub and Fanaka Real Estate offices.
