Safaricom has taken its PATA MORE campaign to the Greater Western and Nyanza regions, rolling out a package of enhanced data, M-PESA, device and business offers aimed at giving customers more value from everyday digital services.
The regional launch, held at Misori Beach in Usenge, Siaya County, brought together customers, merchants, partners and other local stakeholders as the telecommunications company expanded the campaign beyond its national launch.
More data for less
At the heart of PATA MORE is a promise to stretch the value customers get from their mobile spending.
Safaricom has increased its data allocations across selected bundles, with customers now able to access 250MB for KES20, valid for 24 hours, compared with the previous 150MB.
The KES99 bundle now offers 1.5GB for 24 hours, up from 1GB, while the KES1,000 monthly data bundle has been increased to 21.5GB, more than double its previous 10GB allocation.
The company says the enhanced packages are designed to give customers greater flexibility as demand for mobile internet continues to grow.
Pochi transactions get cheaper
Small-value business transactions are also getting a boost under the campaign through changes to Pochi la Biashara.
Under Pochi Kadogo, transactions of up to KES200 can now be made free of charge, doubling the previous KES100 threshold.
For transactions above KES200, Safaricom has introduced a KES50 maximum transaction fee for the next 90 days, giving merchants and customers greater predictability when making payments.
The campaign also promotes faster payment options through Scan to Pay and Tap to Pay.
Small businesses get a bigger digital payments window
Safaricom is also raising the ceiling for low-value Lipa na M-PESA Buy Goods transactions.
The Buy Goods Kadogo threshold has increased from KES200 to KES500, a move expected to make digital payments more convenient for customers while helping merchants retain more of their earnings.
The change comes as small businesses increasingly rely on mobile payments for daily transactions.
Devices come with more than just a smartphone
For customers seeking to upgrade their devices, Safaricom is packaging smartphones with additional services, including data, voice benefits and device insurance.
Among the offers is the Neon Ultra 2, available from KES55 per day, with device insurance included.
The approach seeks to combine device affordability with protection, particularly for customers who depend on their smartphones for communication, business and digital services.
Drivers and riders also get connected
The campaign extends to drivers and riders through Bundle Ya Dereva/Boda, which combines connectivity with tools designed to support their work.
Subscribers receive complimentary access to ride-hailing applications and Google Maps, alongside Tuunza Mapato insurance.
For workers who depend on their phones to navigate, communicate with customers and access digital platforms, the bundled services are positioned as practical additions rather than standalone connectivity benefits.
Taking the campaign beyond Nairobi
By bringing PATA MORE to Western and Nyanza, Safaricom is positioning the campaign as a nationwide value proposition covering both individual customers and businesses.
The rollout comes as mobile connectivity, digital payments and smartphone-based services continue to become increasingly intertwined with everyday economic activity.
For customers, the central attraction is simple: more data, cheaper small-value transactions, wider payment options and additional services bundled into everyday digital spending.
