LG Electronics East Africa and regional distributor Opalnet have launched a new portfolio of commercial technology solutions aimed at helping businesses across East Africa improve operational efficiency, reduce energy costs and accelerate digital transformation.
The latest range of business-to-business (B2B) technologies targets sectors including commercial real estate, hospitality, logistics, retail, healthcare and public infrastructure, reflecting growing demand for integrated, AI-powered solutions that improve productivity while lowering the total cost of ownership.
The unveiling, held during a dinner showcase attended by developers, engineers, distributors and industry professionals, also reinforces the strategic partnership between LG and Opalnet as they seek to expand their footprint in East Africa’s rapidly growing commercial technology market.
AI and energy efficiency take centre stage
The newly introduced portfolio includes a broad range of intelligent commercial solutions designed to meet the operational needs of modern enterprises.
Among the products unveiled are built-in kitchen appliances, commercial heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, including energy-efficient Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) systems and Multi V™ technologies that provide intelligent climate management while reducing electricity consumption.
The companies also introduced LG’s latest commercial laundry equipment, featuring high-capacity washers and dryers designed for hotels, hospitals, serviced apartments and institutional facilities.
The machines incorporate artificial intelligence-powered fabric care, reduced water and energy consumption, and enhanced operational reliability, making them suitable for high-volume commercial environments.
Other additions to the portfolio include high-efficiency chest freezers for retail and cold-chain businesses, alongside LG’s flagship 100-inch QNED commercial display designed for enterprise and institutional applications.
Partnership focuses on business growth
Speaking during the launch, LG Electronics East Africa Marketing Lead Jane Kariuki said the company is committed to helping businesses access not only advanced technology but also the financing and technical support needed to adopt it.
She noted that many enterprises, particularly in emerging markets, require strong partnerships that combine technology, financing and after-sales service to remain competitive.
“We are trying to help our B2B partners grow their businesses. We understand that some may not have the financial capability, but through our partnership with Opalnet, they can access financial solutions while benefiting from LG’s technology, training and after-sales support. We want to grow together with our partners,” she said.
Kariuki added that modern businesses increasingly require technology partners capable of addressing local operational challenges rather than simply supplying equipment.
Local support to drive adoption
Opalnet Managing Director Rakesh Singh said the partnership goes beyond product distribution by ensuring businesses receive the technical expertise necessary to deploy and maintain sophisticated commercial technologies.
According to Singh, advanced equipment delivers value only when supported by reliable local engineering, installation and maintenance services.
“The integration of LG’s engineering capabilities with Opalnet’s regional distribution network reflects a growing trend where businesses are prioritising long-term operational reliability over upfront procurement costs. Most of LG’s latest products are AI-integrated, and we are working closely with LG to make these technologies accessible to Kenyan businesses,” he said.
Beyond supplying equipment, Opalnet will provide technical consultation, installation, preventive maintenance and after-sales support to help organisations maximise the performance and lifespan of their technology investments.
Meeting East Africa’s growing infrastructure needs
The expanded commercial portfolio comes as businesses across East Africa increasingly invest in modern infrastructure that combines automation, energy efficiency and sustainability.
Industry players attending the launch expressed interest in technologies capable of improving operational efficiency while reducing long-term operating costs.
With its latest offering, LG and Opalnet are positioning themselves to support enterprises undertaking new developments as well as organisations upgrading existing facilities, providing integrated technology solutions backed by localised technical expertise and lifecycle support.
The companies say the partnership reflects their long-term commitment to supporting East Africa’s evolving business landscape through innovative, energy-efficient technologies tailored to regional market needs.
