Colonial-Era Bomb Discovered in Nduma Village, Kikuyu

The people of Nduma Village in Kikuyu Constituency, Kiambu County, were totally surprised to come across an 80mm live artillery shell of mortar, which they guess could be a colonial era leftover.

Upon confirming the incident, Kikuyu Sub-County Police Commander Joseph Ndege indicated that the explosive device was extremely dangerous and if it had been mishandled, it could have caused a huge destruction.

“The bomb, which was 80mm, is a very dangerous one,” Ndege explained and added that experts on explosives had been brought in to make a safe detonation of the shell.

Moreover, he requested the public to be very careful and in case they see such mysterious devices, they should at once inform the police.

The police have barricaded the place as detectives work on the incident of an old explosive device that had been left in the ​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌village.
