Andreas von Paleske, Naivas Supermarket New CEO
Naivas Supermarket has made a significant leadership transition known. It has appointed Andreas von Paleske as its new Chief Executive Officer with effect from 1st November 2025.
As the Chief of Strategy, Von Paleske will replace David Kimani, a founding member and long-serving CEO, who awaits his next journey after the retailer’s 35th anniversary. Kimani will be working closely with Peter, Charles, and the Mukuha family to manage the business.
Von Paleske, who came to Naivas eight years ago, has been the key figure in steering strategy through the rapid expansion of the chain to over 100 outlets all over the country.
“After meeting the conditions of several landmark milestones in the past few years, and the strong leadership team being in place, I see no better time than our 35-year anniversary to hand over the baton,” said Kimani.
Arnaud Lagesse, Naivas International Chairman, lauded Kimani for the creation of one of Kenya’s corporate success story exactly where he laid the foundations and he exuded confidence in von Paleske’s capacity to lead the company to the next phase of growth.
“David’s role laying the foundations of one Kenya’s corporate success stories is truly commendable, and with Andreas we have the right leader to take the business to even greater heights. Andreas brings deep industry experience and a strong understanding of Naivas’ culture and values. His appointment ensures continuity and positions the company for its next phase of growth,” said Lagesse
The retailer confers again its pledge to providing value to customers, partners, and communities, making it clear that the leadership change is part of its long-term growth and sustainability plan
