Canon Empowers African Creators on Global Stage at Vision 2025 Amsterdam

2 Mins read

Canon Central & North Africa (CCNA) flew ten regional content creators from Egypt, Kenya, Nigeria, and Tanzania to participate in Canon Vision 2025 in Amsterdam.

These creators, whose works include tech, lifestyle, fashion, documentary, travel, film, wildlife and wedding photography, came together with more than 100 peers from Europe and the Middle East.

They had the chance to participate in on-location production, networking, and interactive learning activities, thus witnessing Canon’s promise of nurturing talent and empowering storytellers firsthand.

Canon Vision 2025, a Canon Europe event, was an innovative leap to reach the global creator community. Influencers are recognised by Canon as one of the main contributors to customer-brand relations and overall trust. The trend towards short videos on social media like TikTok and Instagram Reels, where audience attention is largely drawn, is what this decision is all about.

Unfreeze – Breaking Conventions

The theme of the conference was #Unfreeze, which was an invitation to step aside from the long-held traditions, discover the motion and open the new creative potential. This was a major change in Canon’s plan to become a motion-first brand with a creator-first mindset that reflects today’s way of consuming content.

Next, creators tried Canon’s latest vlogging cameras, the PowerShot V1 and EOS R50V, which were made just for content creation. The PowerShot V1 is a small and simple-to-operate alternative for capturing short videos and telling travel stories.

The gizmo comes with a flip screen and internal stabilisation which together make it very easy and safe to shoot even if you are on the move. The EOS R50V offers more features for the advanced user. Alongside with 4K video, lens changing and fast auto-focus, it provides high-quality footage and as well as flexibility.

Besides that, the line-up of capacities included workshops and masterclasses that were also supported by the Shooting Like a Pro event that covered storytelling, new trends and the best industry practices.

The agenda brought creativity and collaboration together, allowing the audience to participate in group content challenges with prizes, attend a gala dinner for networking and visit the innovative NXT Museum for immersive exhibitions and content-making opportunities in Amsterdam.

Industry Leadership at IBC 2025

Participants of the wider experience also had the chance to visit the IBC 2025 where Canon demonstrated its video imaging ecosystem and multi-cam solutions for professionals.

The company introduced its new EOS C50, a very flexible, full-frame, RF-mount hybrid Cinema EOS camera for professional videographers and agile production crew. With this new launch, Canon reaffirms its commitment to providing professional-grade technology to creators of all skill levels.

“Canon’s ICE – Innovation, Customer, and Employee Experience – forms the core of our strategy. The Canon Vision 2025 embody one of the best instances where we show how we enhance customer experience by providing powerful platforms for creators who really are not only our customers but the voice of our future customer base.

By giving influencers and other content creators high-quality tools, we are actually allowing them to produce the authentic stories that engage and stimulate their audiences. This event is just another indicator of our promise to the creative community being at the center of our journey, which means that they are not only equipped with the latest and greatest technology but also highly inspired to excel.” Rashad Ghani, B2C Business Unit Director, Canon Central & North Africa, said.

Empowering the Next Generation of Creators

Interaction with influencers and creators has always been a major pillar of the strategy of Canon Central & North Africa. Canon has been developing deep and long-lasting relationships with the creative community through both continuing campaigns like “.CelebrateAfrica”, “Generation R”, “Loved by Creators” and “Go Cinematic” and through events like Canon Vision 2025.

This event is one more landmark in the brand’s journey to opening up the world of storytelling by providing creatives the tools to expand their work and the opportunity to rewrite the boundaries of creativity with Canon technology.
