MultiChoice marks 30 years in Kenya with grand customer appreciation campaign

MultiChoice Kenya is celebrating three decades of entertainment excellence and cultural impact in the country with the launch of a special customer appreciation initiative dubbed Your World of More. The campaign, which runs until September 30, 2025, is a tribute to the millions of loyal viewers who have supported the brand over the years.

Since its establishment in February 1995, MultiChoice has played a pioneering role in shaping Kenya’s film and television landscape. Through platforms such as DStv, GOtv, and Showmax, the company has consistently delivered premium, diverse content while providing a launchpad for local talent and African storytelling.

Speaking at the anniversary celebrations held at the MultiChoice Kenya offices, Managing Director Nzola Miranda highlighted the company’s contribution to the industry.

“For three decades, we have been at the heart of entertainment in this country, shaping the industry and providing a platform for African stories to thrive. This legacy belongs to every Kenyan who has tuned in, shared in the laughter, and celebrated with us,” said Miranda.

He emphasized MultiChoice’s commitment to driving industry growth through investment and partnerships:

“Since 2016, we have invested over $50 million in the local film industry and worked with over 30 local production houses. These collaborations have led to the creation of more than 100 original and exclusive local titles, employing hundreds of actors and SMEs in the process,” he added. Read more👇

The Your World of More campaign will not only celebrate past achievements but also look to the future, as MultiChoice renews its focus on delivering authentic African stories that reflect local realities while captivating global audiences.

The event was also graced by key government officials, including Principal Secretary for the State Department for Youth Affairs, the Creative Economy and Sports, Fikirini Jacobs. He lauded MultiChoice’s role in nurturing talent, saying:

“For over 30 years, MultiChoice has played a pivotal role in empowering our creative sector by offering skills, mentorship, and real investment in talent. As we chart the future, we are proud to deepen this partnership by co-creating a curriculum with Kenya’s film legends to shape the storytellers of tomorrow.”

In recognition of its contribution to the creative economy, MultiChoice also honored key industry players—actors, producers, and content creators—whose work has elevated Kenya’s storytelling prowess.
