Kenya’s Hospitality Titans gather to redefine industry excellence at the Hotel Expo Kenya luncheon
Kenya’s hospitality sector is poised for significant growth as industry leaders, policymakers, and investors convened in Sarova Panafric Hotel in Nairobi for The Hotel Expo Kenya Stakeholder Luncheon. This high-level engagement, hosted by Global Exhibitions Inc. (GEx), set the stage for the upcoming Hotel Expo Kenya 2025, East Africa’s premier hospitality event.
The luncheon brought together influential stakeholders, including representatives from the Kenya Tourism Board, Kenya National Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KNCCI), Kenya Association of Hotelkeepers & Caterers (KAHC), and major industry players such as Sheffield, Java Group, and Sarova Group of Hotels.
Hon. John Olooltua, Principal Secretary of the State Department of Tourism, underscored the sector’s vital role in Kenya’s economic development.
“Kenya’s hospitality industry is at a turning point, with rising demand for high-quality guest experiences, investment in infrastructure, and the rapid adoption of technology and sustainability practices. Platforms like The Hotel Expo Kenya 2025 provide a vital opportunity to showcase our country’s strengths, attract investors, and align the sector with global standards,” he said.
The hospitality industry in East Africa is experiencing rapid expansion, driven by a surge in international arrivals, a growing middle class, and increasing investor confidence. In 2023, the region welcomed over seven million international visitors, with forecasts predicting an annual growth rate of 15 percent.
Speaking at the event, Edwin Masivo, Country Director of Global Exhibitions Inc., highlighted the expo’s pivotal role in shaping the future of the industry.
“This is more than just an event— it is a catalyst for industry growth. We are bringing together decision-makers, innovators, and hospitality leaders to explore cutting-edge solutions, forge strategic partnerships, and elevate East Africa’s status as a global hospitality powerhouse,” said Masivo.
With shifting consumer preferences, sustainability demands, and technological advancements reshaping the industry, stakeholders emphasized the need for collaboration and innovation.
According to industry leaders, a strong hospitality industry requires continuous adaptation to global trends, investment in quality services, and a commitment to excellence. The conversations we have had today are a step towards building a world-class industry in Kenya and beyond. We look forward to seeing these ideas come to life at The Hotel Expo Kenya 2025
Scheduled for August 6th–8th, 2025, at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi, The Hotel Expo Kenya 2025 will be the largest hospitality-focused exhibition and conference in East Africa. The event will bring together hoteliers, suppliers, investors, and service providers to explore industry innovations, showcase cutting-edge solutions, and foster high-value B2B engagements
