Movement within Banisa Constituency has been revolutionized following the completion of a new high-class road by the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA), a project that has been hailed as a transformative milestone for the region.
The newly constructed 5-kilometre road in Banisa Township was completed in record time, marking a significant step towards improved infrastructure in the area. Residents have welcomed the development with open arms, describing it as a “game changer” that has breathed new life into a town once plagued by poor accessibility.
“We have seen a lot of improvement now. The town is easily accessible, and dust is now a thing of the past. This is the Kenya we want,” said Mohamed Aden, a local resident.
The road has not only enhanced connectivity but also improved access to essential services. “We can now reach hospitals with ease thanks to the good road,” added another resident.
This project stands as part of the enduring legacy of the late MP Hassan Kulow Maalim, who passed away in April 2023. Maalim was a passionate advocate for development in Banisa, focusing on roads, education, and infrastructure to uplift the livelihoods of his constituents.
Despite his passing, his vision for a progressive Banisa lives on through projects like this, with more development initiatives currently underway. Residents have called on President William Ruto to allocate additional resources to the region to ensure sustained growth and to help bridge the gap of marginalization.
