KCB Bank Kenya has officially launched the “Revvvisha na KCB” campaign, a nationwide initiative designed to promote financial empowerment and encourage positive savings behaviors among Kenyans. The campaign, which began on December 27, 2024, will run until April 2025, coinciding with the highly anticipated 2025 World Rally Championship (WRC) Safari Rally scheduled for March 20-23, 2025.
The campaign’s key offering is the KCB Goal Savings Account, which allows customers to save towards their financial goals while benefiting from an attractive interest rate of up to 8.5%. Throughout the campaign period, participants have the chance to win a variety of prizes, including the grand prize: a parcel of land for residential development in Vipingo Model City, Kilifi County, courtesy of Centum Re.
In a statement, Rosalind Gichuru, KCB Group Marketing and Communications Director, emphasized the campaign’s role in promoting a culture of savings in Kenya. “We are excited to offer our customers an opportunity to save towards their financial goals while rewarding their dedication. The ‘Revvvisha na KCB’ campaign underscores our commitment to creating a savings culture and helping Kenyans achieve their dreams of homeownership and financial security,” Gichuru remarked.
The promotion is open to both new and existing customers of KCB Bank who are at least 18 years old and possess a valid National Identification Card. Corporate accounts, M-Pesa agents, and KCB Bank Kenya staff are excluded from the promotion.
For new customers, participation in the campaign requires opening a KCB Goal Savings Account, selecting a savings goal, and making an initial deposit of KShs. 5,000. Customers are then required to save a minimum of KShs. 2,500 per month throughout the campaign period. Existing customers, on the other hand, must make monthly deposits of at least KShs. 2,500 into their KCB Goal Savings Account to qualify.
Customers who select “plot or house purchase” as their savings goal are eligible for the grand prize of a parcel of land. Other exciting rewards for participants include school fees vouchers, dining vouchers, fuel vouchers, and Easter hampers.
The “Revvvisha na KCB” campaign is a strategic move by KCB Bank to engage the public in long-term financial planning while creating awareness about its savings products. By linking the initiative to the WRC Safari Rally, one of the most prestigious motorsport events in the world, KCB also aims to harness the excitement and national interest surrounding the event to drive financial literacy and savings culture across the country.
KCB Bank has a long-standing tradition of supporting sports in Kenya, with a diverse range of sponsorships across various disciplines. The bank’s sports assets include prominent teams such as the KCB Women’s Volleyball Club, KCB Football Club, and KCB Rugby Club. Additionally, KCB supports a wide array of other sports including chess, athletics, and golf. Through its sponsorships, the bank has contributed millions of shillings towards the growth and development of sports in Kenya, further cementing its role as a key player in both financial services and community empowerment.
