Safaricom has officially launched the second phase of its Sambaza Furaha campaign in the Mount Kenya region, bringing early Christmas cheer to its customers. The initiative, which began in the Rift Valley region, seeks to reward and celebrate customers for their loyalty as the telecommunications giant marks 24 years of transforming lives.

The caravan kicked off in Kenol and traveled through various towns including Maragua, Murang’a Town, Mukuyu Market, Kangema, and Kiriaini. During the event, Safaricom distributed an array of gifts such as live goats, chickens, food hampers, and airtime to delighted customers.

Speaking at the flag-off ceremony, James Muteti, Safaricom’s Regional Business Lead for Mount Kenya, highlighted the campaign’s mission to connect with customers and uplift communities.

“This initiative is about gifting our customers with early Christmas delights and appreciating them for walking with us on this incredible journey. As part of the event, we will have different initiatives geared towards meeting our customers’ needs and uplifting communities,” Muteti stated. He also announced the opening of a new Safaricom franchise shop in Kenol, aimed at improving customer access to Safaricom services and products.

One of the beneficiaries, Julius Macharia from Murang’a, expressed his gratitude after receiving a chicken and a food hamper. “I want to thank Safaricom for celebrating and bringing an early Christmas to us here in Murang’a. My Christmas is well sorted,” he said.

The Sambaza Furaha caravan also includes various community-driven activities. These initiatives aim to address local needs and empower communities:

Healthcare Services: Free medical camps are being offered at Rubate Technical Teachers College Grounds in Tharaka Nithi County.

Business Partnerships: Safaricom is engaging with local dealers in Meru to strengthen partnerships and expand services.
