Absa Bank Kenya, in collaboration with Visa, has unveiled an exclusive Infinite Card in metal design, marking a significant milestone as the first bank in Kenya to introduce this luxury offering. This innovation aims to elevate the banking experience for affluent customers.
The Infinite Card combines functionality with sophistication, featuring numerous benefits that enhance the cardholder experience. Cardholders will enjoy unlimited access to over 1,200 airport lounges and 900 hotels globally, as well as 24-hour concierge services. Additionally, the card provides comprehensive travel insurance with a tripled coverage limit of $2.5 million (approximately KES 322.5 million), ensuring peace of mind for travelers. Buyer protection has also been improved, with limits increasing from $10,000 to $20,000 (approximately KES 1.3 million to KES 2.6 million), along with a rewards program offering 1.5 percent back on both local and international purchases.
At the card’s launch, Absa Bank Kenya Managing Director Abdi Mohamed emphasized the bank’s commitment to personalized banking solutions. “Today, more than ever, customers and businesses demand flexibility, efficiency, and personalization in how they transact. As a business, we understand that we cannot afford to have a one-fits-all approach. Through our partnership with Visa, the Absa Visa Infinite Card strengthens our affluent portfolio by providing exclusive spending power, enhanced protection, and superior rewards,” he stated.

The metallic design of the card distinguishes it from standard plastic options, offering a longer lifespan. This initiative aligns with the bank’s sustainability goals, as the introduction of the new card is part of its commitment to achieving net zero emissions by 2050. Notably, 0.05 percent of every on-flight ticket purchase made with the card will contribute to tree planting efforts.
Chad Pollock, Visa East Africa Vice President and General Manager, highlighted the card’s aim to exceed cardholder expectations. “At Visa, we are committed to innovation and excellence in providing our cardholders with unparalleled experiences. The launch of the Absa Visa Infinite Card in a metallic design is a testament to our dedication to meeting the evolving needs of our customers. This card offers exceptional benefits including global acceptance and opens doors to a world of exclusive experiences, including private events and VIP access to special offers and unique opportunities,” Pollock said.
Seema de Souza, Absa’s Director of Affluent Banking, reiterated the bank’s capability to address the dynamic needs of affluent customers in Kenya. “Absa is well positioned to cater to the evolving needs of affluent customers in Kenya; with our comprehensive wealth solutions and retail banking products, we are uniquely equipped to meet their personal and business financial requirements. This is complemented by our trained and dedicated relationship managers and digital solutions to make their banking experience more convenient,” de Souza added.
