NARC-Kenya Party Leader Martha Karua, has launched a blistering attack on President William Ruto, accusing him of human rights abuses and constitutional violations during recent anti-government protests.
Karua’s vehement condemnation highlighted a growing frustration with Ruto’s administration, asserting that the regime has failed to address the pressing issues raised by protesters.
Addressing reporters in Nairobi, Karua did not hold back. She accused Ruto of sanctioning the brutalization of innocent Kenyans and flouting court orders meant to protect their rights. “We are witnessing a disturbing trend of increased impunity under President Ruto’s watch,” Karua declared, pledging to rally Kenyans against the current administration until their grievances are resolved.
Karua’s critique extended beyond domestic politics. She vowed to take the matter to international platforms, promising to lodge formal complaints with the African Union Commission on Human Rights and the United Nations Commission on Human Rights. “Every drop of blood spilt in the quest for justice must be accounted for,” Karua asserted, emphasizing her commitment to exposing alleged abuses on both the continental and global stage.
The NARC-Kenya leader also took aim at the new university education funding model, branding it a betrayal of Kenyan students. She argued that the model, if implemented without substantial public consultation, would not only be unconstitutional but also discriminatory. “This new funding model places an undue burden on students and their families,” she charged, calling for its rejection.
Karua’s statements reflect a broader discontent with Ruto’s administration and signal a determined effort to mobilize both national and international support against perceived injustices.
